Daffodil Days
For more than 35 years, the American Cancer Society Daffodil Days® program has been making a difference in the fight against cancer and providing hope for those facing the disease. Although Daffodil Days involves offering daffodils to donors every spring in appreciation for their contributions, it is about more than just giving beautiful flowers; it is an opportunity to share hope for a world with less cancer and more birthdays, where cancer never steals another year from anyone's life.
Dollars raised through Daffodil Days provide the Society with much-needed dollars to save lives by helping people stay well by preventing cancer or detecting it early; helping people get well by being there for them during and after a cancer diagnosis; by finding cures through investment in groundbreaking discovery; and by fighting back by rallying lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and by rallying communities worldwide to join the fight. Last year, more than $20,000 was donated by the Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara staff, employees, volunteers, members and friends and we are confident that this year the goal can be even higher! Please place your requests for Daffodils by February 26, 2010. For a donation of $10, supporters can receive a bouquet of fresh-cut daffodils and, more importantly, the knowledge that they are helping fight cancer. Other items are available, such as:
DAFFODIL DAYS Donation Tables with friendly volunteers will be located in the Medical Center lobbies to take your orders. Or, you are always invited to bring your donations to the Volunteer Services Office in room 164 of the Medical Office Building. Thank you very much for your willingness to contribute to this worthy cause. |
